Accounting is for accountants and what’s worse is they want it to stay this way, so it’s hardly suprising that individuals like me who own a small business and can’t and don’t want to spend money on an accountant discovered the shortcut I want to share with you here. Everyone who creates or manages a business has ’higher priority’ things to do with their time than spend hours on their bookkeeping. Accounting is one of those arduous tasks that very few people relish doing but has to be attended to on a consistent basis to avoid issues.
I asked my bookkeeper for advice and he persuaded me to use Sage Software which turned out to be a small business accounting software package. I immediately went out and purchased the software without even contemplating if it was the right choice. This was definitely one of the worst mistakes I made as the system turned out to be really hard to get to grips with and use. To be straight with you whenever I see the word accounting together with the word software I am always reminded of the first piece of advice I need to share with you and that is most small business accounting software assumes you have a good working knowledge of bookkeeping.
Just like me small enterprise people understand their craft and what they sell and not accounting but in my case I was driven to devote time to finding a solution that would work for me. It was really worth doing this as I found a more useful solution than I could ever of dreamed of named salesorder.com.
Definitively the best software I have come across, salesorder.com works on the internet and is thoughfully designed and of course lets me do my job anywhere I can connect to the net. And here is the coolest bit I want to share with you, the team at salesorder.com know their subject, just like their software they are a joy to work with and better still are happy to spend substantial time with their customers (even the free ones) helping people like me to understand and address real problems in my company and to top it off they have coached me in the accounting I need to know.
