Broadband providers come up with clever marketing claims and all too many people rush to sign up for a service which does not really give them what they need. Speed is incredibly important for those who use online gaming services and music downloading. You want to know the actual speed of that the service will offer you. Read the promises of the service carefully. Usually you will not be promised that the service will always operate at full speed. The phrase “up to” will probably appear a lot when comparing speeds for the various services.
 
 Besides sped you also want a service that is reliable. A service that is fast but out half the time will be of no use to you. While most internet broadband providers these days will offer unlimited downloads, not everyone does. Some providers still place a limit on the amount you can download. Carefully read the contract, especially if you need to do a lot of downloading. There are also some services that claim to have unlimited downloading but have terms in the contract that allow them to prohibit “excessive” downloading.
 
 You can have problems with even the most reliable service. This is why good customer service is also important. It is fairly easy to find customer reviews for the main broadband providers online. Make sure you take the time to read through these and only use a provider which has a good record of positive reviews.
